"PAY ATTENTION"
It is as simple as paying attention to what people are saying or what people are paying attention to, and making a comment or asking a question about it. Paying attention can be challenging depending on the location and event, so paying attention is key because you can miss a buying signal or a cry for help!. you may get interrupted. I often recommend sticking to 5 maximum number of people to talk to per event. First you need to prioritize why you want to talk to them, spend time with them and listen. Ask open ended questions. I am amazed how easy is to get information when you ask correctly. I rather collect two to five business cards and connect with them; than have 20+ business cards and not really remember them. Quality wins at the end.
Happy prospecting in 2011. Maximize your time and dollars during these events, explore and see which event fits your industry best.

Positive Affirmations By Hannibal Chinchilla
I want to end the year with a really good blog, so here it is…
As we say good bye to a very challenging year, I want to share a positive outlook for 2011. I used this technique in the early 80’s when I was competing with the USMC Pistol Team. I am a true believer of self-help books and reading positive engaging topics. It pays off in the long run. In 1986, I came across a book called “POW” the psychology of winning by Dr. Denis Waitley, you might of heard of him from The Secret, I got this book ten years before The Secret came out; during this time I was competing for the number two team to back up the main USMC team or the Gold Team, my goal was to be in the Scarlet team. It seemed that I was stuck below a competitive score to make the team. I was good but not in the elite 4 guns. This book gave me some insights about the power of the subconscious mind and positive affirmation to make it to the next level and never look back. I practiced shooting the course over and over in my mind, from the morning to the night, right to the point of going to sleep. I practice its techniques for over two months and behold, it worked! One Saturday morning, during our monthly matches I went into what athletes call “The Zone”. Everything seemed just perfect. I shot the match just like I have been doing in my mind. I notice everything went into slow motion, even my casings leaving my gun moved slowly and I could actually see the process of ejection and loading for a follow up shot. I won the match and the elite shooters ask me: Where have you being? They knew I had within me, to become a National Champion one day which I did eventually; before that match but I could not break my mental block until I practiced positive affirmations. I am telling you this so you can envision what you like to accomplish in the upcoming year by using positive affirmations. Before something becomes a reality, you have to envisioned it, dream it. Only perfect envisioning is allowed. Perfect performance to accomplish your goals, I am glad I am revisiting these positive affirmations for the upcoming year during my vacation. I read many of Earl Nightingale pieces and books, specially the “The Strangest Secret”.
Your belief system (subconscious mind) is like a computer, it doesn’t judge or even question what you input; it merely accepts your thoughts as the Truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. What you feed your computer is what you get as an output. Unfortunately we live a negative world, from TV, newspapers; everything out there is mainly negative, to include people. Think thoughts of defeat, failure and fear and you are bound to feel discourage, worried, stressed, panicky and depressed. So my gift to you this New Year is to add positive affirmations to your life; I hope it makes for a better and successful year for you and our community.
Oh yeah, the affirmations…
You have to make this yourself but follow the following rules:
1. State them aloud
2. In a positive manner with the focus on what you want
3. In the present tense
4. With strong emotion and conviction
5. Repeatedly!!!!
